Issues: Expert Witness/ Expert Testimony, Dissociative Disorders

The Forensic Panel Letter
Defendant, charged with an armed robbery spree, raised issues of dissociative disorder and PTSD. Wholesale exclusion of relevant psychiatric testimony was held to violate the right to present a defense. Psychiatrists could testify to her diagnostic condition and typical features of that condition but not directly as to what, in their opinion, had occurred.
